ON THIS DATE: 15 years ago today, Enter The Matrix launched in North America. An ambitious tie-in to The Matrix Reloaded, this action game developed by Shiny Entertainment put players into the role of either Niobe or Ghost—characters from the second two Matrix films. Highlights of the game included FMV sequences that were filmed concurrently with movie filming, so they include the original actors, original costumes, original sets, and original props.
Despite its ambition, Enter the Matrix wound up disappointing many reviewers and players alike. A second Matrix title, Path of Neo, was released in 2005...but it, too, fell short of expectations.
